  • SOUNDSKETCHER: Sound to graphic scores through empirical and creative cross-modal associations (Project website)
  • MELOS: Greek Audiovisual Music Collections The project MELOS uses as case studies three local music repositories, namely, the Greek Contrabass Archive (University of Macedonia), the Collection of recordings by Vasilis Tsitsanis (University of Ioannina) and the Archive of music scores by Mikis Theodorakis (Music Library of Greece 'Lilian Voudouri').
    Aims of the project MELOS include:
    • The development of a specialized music ontology that contains innovative features allowing the integration of manually annotated and automatically extracted qualitative features from musical audio and scores.
    • The creation of adequate environments for the collection of cultural content and its provision to cultural inventory providers.
    • The formation of national networks for joint creation and management of cultural databases by institutions that have similar collections.
    • The development of methodologies and techniques that will assist the scientific enrichment of cultural stock.
    • The use of social networks and crowdsourcing for the enrichment and promotion of music collections.
    • The development of tools and methodologies for searching, linking, retrieving, presenting/visualizing and enriching the semantically annotated musical information and knowledge included in music collections.
